TINTA (The Invisible Thread) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2020 in France. TINTA seeks to strengthen capacities, foster connections and increase the visibility of Indigenous Peoples, traditional and local community organisations (IPLCs). More specifically, we aim to empower IPLC organisations and their leaders to fight for social justice and the protection of nature. TINTA currently consists of a ten-person team, with a remote working culture which enables us to easily work with colleagues from around the world.
We are seeking a part-time People, Culture and Talent Officer with a proclivity towards human resources management. This is an ideal opportunity for professionals who have led small-midsize Culture & Talent teams in startups and NGOs through periods of rapid growth. This person should be comfortable working fully remotely, in a global organisation, across time zones, languages and cultures.
This is a new position in a young and mission-driven organisation. We are looking for someone with the capacity to take the lead, to think strategically, and who is able to jump in and handle the paperwork. We are looking for a solutions-based mindset, with excellent communication skills and an ability to nimbly identify and address needs.
This candidate should be deeply committed to the mission and values of the organisation, and to ensuring that all practices are rooted in principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in a global sense.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a People, Culture and Talent (HR) strategy, geared towards team building
- Manage the recruitment pipeline, including drafting job descriptions, applicant screening, tracking, interviewing, etc.
- Develop an “onboarding” document and onboard new staff
- Conduct staff performance reviews and evaluations
- Build and update a roster of consultants
- Develop, review, manage and implement policies, processes, and staff procedures
- Dynamise the team and facilitate weekly team meetings
- Propose and lead the use of new remote tools to help advance the organisation’s work
- Review salary scales and benefits, and propose improvements
- Work closely with staff to provide advice, guidance and mentoring, including one-to-one coaching for capacity building and professional development
- Oversee traditional HR duties, including compliance with French and international employment laws, safety and security.
- Work closely with the General Coordinator in implementing, achieving and maintaining the property, nature, goals, and objectives of the association.
