🏠 What We Do
The shift to electric mobility is happening. Electra is accelerating it.
Transportation is one of Europe's biggest sources of carbon emissions. Since 2021, Electra exists to make charging so simple that electric vehicles become the obvious choice for everyone.
In 5 years, we've built a team of 300+ talents from 21 nationalities in 10 countries.
We've grown into one of Europe's leading fast-charging operators by deploying fast, reliable infrastructure and user experiences across our own network, and we're now expanding to thousands more charging points in Europe with our own eMSP.
Backed by over €1 billion in funding, we're looking for bold, passionate, collaborative talents to drive Europe's energy transition.
If that sounds exciting, we'd love to hear from you!
💼 Your Mission
Join Electra's Technology team in Paris as our Staff Engineer Mobile, the technical reference for mobile across the company.
The Technology team owns engineering standards, developer experience and AI enablement, and works hand in hand with the product squads (Charge XP, Pro, Navigation) that ship in the app hundreds of thousands of drivers use every month to find, start and pay for a charge.
Your mission: give these squads a mobile platform and an architecture that let them move fast.
🦸♀️🦸♂️ Your Responsibilities
1. Set and own the technical direction of mobile at Electra
Define and drive the mobile architecture across our native iOS and Android apps, including setting the right boundaries between platform-specific native code and shared code (we use Kotlin Multi Platform).
Build and support delivery of a multi-quarter mobile technical roadmap with engineering leadership and the product squads, and make the hard trade-offs explicit.
Extend the platform to in-car experiences (CarPlay, Android Auto) in a way that stays maintainable.
2. Build the mobile platform the squads rely on
Design, deploy, and own a shared, agentic-first mobile SDLC from feature design to post-release follow-ups: Agentic loops, testing, CI/CD, app-store release management (incl. feature flags, progressive rollout strategies…).
Strengthen the design system and the shared components so every squad ships consistent, high-quality UX.
Set up mobile observability and instrumentation (crashes, performance, funnel instrumentation) so we detect issues on the charging journey before drivers report them.
3. Raise the engineering bar across squads
Lead the adoption of AI-assisted engineering in the mobile teams, accelerating delivery while protecting quality, privacy and maintainability.
Mentor mobile engineers across squads while staying hands-on on the most critical topics.
Define mobile engineering standards (code review, testing, architecture guidelines) and get them adopted without hierarchical authority.
😎 Your Profile
You have significant experience as a Staff, Principal or Lead Mobile engineer, with demonstrated impact beyond feature delivery.
You have led improvements at platform level, across architecture, reliability, performance, tooling and engineering practices. You can explain how you achieved adoption and measured results.
You have strong hands-on experience with iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose). Production experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is a strong plus.
You can turn ambiguous problems into clear priorities, build alignment across teams, and drive initiatives through to completion, combining technical judgment with product sense.
You are comfortable entering a complex domain (EV charging, roaming, payments) and collaborating closely with backend, product, design and customer care.
AI-assisted engineering is part of your daily practice. You can build repeatable agentic workflows for a team, supported by automated verification and clear human accountability.
You are fluent in both English and French.
This role is based in Paris.
