Business Development & Growth

Define and execute AXA Climate’s commercial growth strategy across LATAM markets. Identify emerging climate risks and client needs in the region.
Originate new business opportunities with brokers, insurers, public sector institutions, NGOs, and financial partners.
Build strategic partnerships and distribution channels in priority markets including Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil.
Represent AXA Climate at industry conferences and market events.

Underwriting Leadership

Contribute to underwriting strategy and execution for climate-related insurance and parametric products across Latin America with the support of Paris-based underwriting team.
Oversee opportunity selection, deal qualification, and portfolio development across priority markets and serve Latin American clients/partners within AXA Climate governance and risk appetite
Provide strategic judgment on market entry opportunities, risk appetite alignment, and transaction feasibility.
Support contract structuring and implementation by helping navigate local legal frameworks, regulatory environments, and operational constraints.

Risk Assessment & Portfolio Management

Structure and price weather-related parametric products for EMEA clients (agriculture yield, frost, excess of precipitation, drought, hail, temperature, flood, tropical cyclone, etc.):
- Design trigger mechanisms and payout structures adapted to clients’ needs
- Develop models and enhance the understanding of the underlying index
- Provide quantitative and qualitative risk assessment of the perils
Establish and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance with risk appetite, compliance standards, internal governance framework and legal requirements.
Manage and monitor risk accumulation by peril and geographic region. Identify large deals and collaborate with reinsurance partners to secure necessary capacity.

Profile

7+ years of experience in underwriting, reinsurance, or structured risk solutions.
Strong understanding of insurance markets in LATAM and broker ecosystems.
Experience in agriculture, climate risk, nat cat, or parametric solutions is highly desirable.
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build markets from the ground up.
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in Spanish and English required; Portuguese is a strong plus.
