The Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa (PPLAAF) supports whistleblowers whose disclosures speak to the public interest of African citizens and ensure they have a greater impact.
To achieve this, PPLAAF ensures that whistleblowers or potential whistleblowers can safely disclose the wrongdoing they are witnessing and that the information they provide reaches the adequate audience and impact. PPLAAF works with journalists and researchers on collaborative projects based on information provided by whistleblowers and other sources. As part of these efforts, PPLAAF investigates often complex allegations of misconduct through reporting and analysis.
PPLAAF is currently looking for one investigation intern to help implement this mission.
Under the supervision of team members, interns will take part in the following tasks:
Provide operational support related to whistleblowers cases;
Monitor and investigate whistleblowers disclosures;
Draft legal and investigative memos;
Follow-up of ongoing judicial and extra-judicial litigation cases;
Support advocacy activities; research, preparation of conferences, public interventions or memos;
Support in drafting communication material;
Monitor news and legal developments regarding whistleblowers protection across Africa;
Provide support in various projects carried out by the PPLAAF’s team and in PPLAAF's cross-functional activities.
