Team & Context 🤝 

Phenix is a fast-growing company aiming to reduce food surplus and avoid food waste. As part of its expansion in the Portuguese market, Phenix is looking for a Senior Key Account Manager to drive growth by acquiring and managing food retail clients and helping them implement tailored solutions.

You will report to Jean-Baptiste, the VP International Sales at Phenix, based in Spain, and work closely with a local team of 5 based in Lisbon. You'll mainly collaborate locally with Ralfe, the Key Account Manager, and Rute, the Customer Success team lead. You will also coordinate with headquarters teams located in France (product, sales, marketing) to drive Phenix’s growth in Portugal.

Scope of responsabilities  📝

The senior Key Account Manager will be responsible for:

  • Acquiring new food retail clients in Portugal.
  • Developing long-term client relationships, ensuring excellent understanding of their needs and high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Overseeing the technical implementation of Phenix’s solutions at client sites, in collaboration with other departments of the company.
  • Providing strategic input on product-market fit and proposing the most adapted go-to-market and sales strategy.
  • Representing Phenix at public events, conferences, and industry meetings to advocate for the company’s mission.
  • Contributing to the long-term development of the Portuguese branch, with the possibility of evolving into a Head of role
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPI), such as client acquisition, account growth, and revenue targets (Salesforce CRM.

Hard Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of the food retail industry in Portugal, including trends and current priorities.
  • Experience in B2B sales, particularly in tech-based services.
  • Proven ability to articulate value propositions and demonstrate ROI.
  • Familiarity with integrating technology solutions with existing systems.
  • Public speaking skills
  • Portuguese native, proficiency in English. French is a plus.

  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling abilities.
  • Ability to adapt strategies based on client feedback and market changes.

Recruitment process 🚀

  1. Screening interview with HR : to assess motivation, cultural fit, and basic qualifications for the role.
  2. Introduction call (15/20 minutes) with Jean-Baptiste, VP international
  3. Business case & technical skills interview (90 minutes) with Jean-Baptiste : to dive into commercial experience, your approach to complex sales cycles, and food retail sector expertise.
  4. Cultural fit interview (45 minutes) with Rute & Ralfe to evaluate cross-functional collaboration skills and ensure alignment with the values
  5. Final Interview “leadership and vision” (45 minutes) with Pauline, CSO
