Our company

As an industry expert, you know. You know that any factory has its own side-streams (left overs), which are not today’s priority. And they won’t be tomorrow either. Side-streams exist. That’s normal. The thing is, 30% of total volumes of raw material end up as wasted side-streams globally. That means 6% of our global carbon emissions are generated for nothing. Hubcycle reinvents the industrial value chain by creating ingredients 100% made from unused resources. We purchase side streams and turn them into competitive bulk ingredients, with no compromise on quality.

Typical examples

Black pepper skins & deoiled cardamom are common. But standard coriander powder & broken saffron pistils are also part of the game, and surprisingly are wasted somewhere too. You will agree that wasting them is nonsense. You will focus on saving them, & ensuring they are eventually used. We can’t keep wasting such resources. We are speaking about thousands of tons.

Job & Missions

You will be the global head of Spice & Herbs sales, to verticalise this category. We spent 3 years chasing low hanging fruits, analyzing hundreds of side-streams and creating tens of ingredients. Now, it’s confirmed that this product category is ready to grow, and grow big. We are beginners, and still sales figures are about 300% growth per year. We believe an expert can bring it way bigger, way faster, and way better than us. So we want you to develop sales, as well as our team knowledge.

We feel that we are at the beginning of something huge. This is a unique opportunity to take responsibility from the beginning, and push it with no limits.

Day to day will be more or less as follow :

  • Apply your industry knowledge & value chain expertise to sell the right ingredients at the right place, to the right clients.
  • Own the sales of Spices & Herbs category, globally.
  • Keep the whole company on its toes regarding sales strategy & market needs (shortages, trends, etc.) in this category.
  • Help technical departments (innovation & quality) to develop relevant specifications to achieve the best market fit.
  • Achieve ambitious sales targets (with unlimited incentive).

We expect you to build a strong & rigorous sales pipeline from the beginning. At first we will provide clear targets to achieve. Later we will expect you to guide us on what is achievable in this category & therefore strongly contribute to sales strategy. You can count on us to push you to deliver the best version of yourself. And we expect you to push us to become a better version of Hubcycle. We will always care about your opinion & vision on the market.

Profil recherché

Skills needed

Even if it sounds obvious, we are looking for someone who will have both short & long term impact. Being able to adapt to a start up is important. We still need to learn, and we will need your advices to grow. We believe that, at least 7 years of selling or purchasing spices is a must to achieve our goals.

Fondamental :

  • We believe that, at least 7 years of selling or purchasing spices is a must to achieve our goals.
  • Perfect knowledge of the spices & herbs industry B2B value chain.
  • Being able to anticipate quality & specification constraints of both clients & products.
  • Strong network in the business, with no fear about your reputation.
  • Experience in purchasing / selling internationally (not limited to one country). The wider the scope, the better.
  • Great communication & listening skills : balance ego, clear points, always propose a solution when spotting a problem.
  • Fluent english. Any other language is great.

Bonus :

  • Technical background in Food business is a plus, but years of experience can compensate for that. Connaissances dans le domaine des ingrédients ;
  • Circular economy mindset.
  • Having already sold similar ressources (like black pepper skin, deoiled products, etc.) is a huge bonus.
