Data scientist Position
Our story so far...
Genesis is a trusted independent rating agency providing bio-based companies across the world with environmental impact evaluations of their agricultural sourcings, based on soil measurements. After 5 years of development, Genesis is working with a diversified portfolio of clients (Cosmetic brands, Luxury brands, food brand, agricultural cooperatives, etc.). If agriculture is partly responsible for the environmental catastrophe, it can also be part of the solution by changing its practices. To do this, we need to raise awareness of the need to make these changes among all stakeholders in the agricultural sector. Our environmental rating is the first in the world to allow biobased companies to truly measure and improve the impact of their agricultural sourcing. European regulations are in the process of making this information and environmental reporting mandatory for the largest groups.
With 28 employees and growing, Genesis is remote friendly and has offices in Paris (9, rue Saint Fiacre, 75002) and Nantes.
What we do
Genesis is developing a SaaS platform enabling companies to measure, monitor, and act on their environmental impact. We track the impact of agricultural practices through soil health measurement on three main dimensions, biology, Carbon, and Pollution.
We develop web applications for farmers, corporate decision-makers, field samplers, and our internal users.
Our impact metrics are generated through lab measurement of soil health indicators, which means there is a high operational need to track soil sample assets over their life cycle.
