Position: Project Management Intern (5 or 6 months)

Background:

The European Network for Women in Leadership (WIL Europe) is a Europe-wide non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the professional and social interests of women in leadership positions and aspiring female leaders from different sectors across Europe.

Our mission is to connect, inspire and empower women to lead the way, by providing a space where they can meet and exchange, network, grow, and identify opportunities and ideas that are not always readily available in their immediate social and professional environments.

Our activities are focused on international, local and online events, including those with key political and business leaders; peer-to-peer networking; and raising the visibility of our members on our communication channels (newsletter, social media).

Since 2012, we have also been running a 12-month leadership programme, the Women Talent Pool (WTP), which supports and promotes a new generation of female leaders in Europe by offering them visibility opportunities, learning opportunities, connecting them with inspiring leaders in Europe, as well as mentoring and coaching. The 9th edition kicked off in March 2024 under the high patronage of Marie-Claire Daveu, Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer at Kering and WIL Member, and the 10th edition is set to start in March 2025.

Responsibilities:

As Project Management Intern, you will assist the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer in all aspects of our in-person and online events and networking activities to ensure that they run smoothly, as well as in the the coordination of all aspects of our Women Talent Pool leadership programme including planning, organising, and supervising programme activities. Working with our Communications Intern, you will also be responsible for managing and developing our Empowering Girls project, aimed at empowering and inspiring young women through interaction with senior female leaders from different sectors/industries.

Tasks:

- Event management: assist with the logistics and organisation of WIL Events, including contributing to defining the theme, format, agenda and speakers’ list of our events and networking activities.

- WTP Programme management: ensure the smooth delivery of our annual leadership programme, including recruitment of new Talents, organisation of our Career Development (mentoring) sessions and coordination of WTP events, as well as to gather feedback on the programme.

- WIL Membership: carry out membership process for new members

- Empowering Girls: work on further developing our project for young women aged 16-20, including raising the profile of the project, finding participations and organising interviews with role models (our members), and work with WIL’s Communications Intern to promote the project on Instagram.

You will also be able to contribute to the development of new initiatives to ensure that WIL has ever-greater impact.

What you’ll get from us/Benefits:

  • The chance to leave your mark on a growing non-profit and, in doing so, contribute to making the world more inclusive.
  • Direct interaction with inspirational female leaders and emerging leaders from different European countries, as well as other high-level decision-makers, and opportunities to enlarge your network.
  • Increased knowledge and understanding of topics covered in our events and workshops. Recent examples include panel debates on sustainability and climate change, humanitarian crises and responses; and workshops on public speaking and personal branding.
  • The chance to travel to and participate in WIL events across Europe.
  • Opportunities for flexible working.
