Description de la mission

Blunomy…… from Intention to Impact

Blunomy is an international consulting firm, dedicated to accelerating the move towards a regenerative society that is decarbonised, circular and inclusive. We do this by partnering with those in the energy supply chain as well as financial institutions, businesses and entrepreneurs to ensure the transition of their resources from brown to green.

We have been operating since 2007, previously trading as Enea Consulting, and continue to expand our international team of Blunomists. Our high performing, multidisciplinary team are based across 5 offices: Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, Paris and London. We come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, are open minded and focused on the future, united by shared values and are passionate about sustainable development and energy access.

We are looking for a passionate, engaging, and ambitious Full Stack Senior
Developer/Staff Engineer to join our team in either Melbourne or Sydney. We invite all of those who want to break the mould to join us to take it from Intention to Impact!

What is the role?

Data and software solutions in the energy and climate space are growing at an incredible rate. Blunomy is expanding our team to support the energy industry through its digitisation, decentralisation, and de-carbonisation transition – and to enable better operability and planning in Australia and around the world.

Data and software solutions in the energy and climate space are growing at an incredible rate. Blunomy is expanding our team to support the energy industry through its digitisation, decentralisation, and decarbonisation transition – and to enable better operability and planning in Australia and around the world.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Full Stack Developer/Staff Engineer to join our product team, focusing on our flagship "Vision" electricity demand forecasting product. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining both the front-end user experience and the robust back-end systems that power our advanced forecasting models for Distribution Networks. We find the best solution for the job that is good enough for many jobs. We are early adopters where it simplifies what we are doing.

Your Impact Areas

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will directly contribute to the evolution of our Vision product, a critical tool in the energy transition. Your work will enable energy participants to make informed decisions by:

  • Developing and enhancing our web application: Building intuitive and responsive user interfaces for displaying complex forecasting data and insights, allowing users to interact with models and results seamlessly.

  • Designing and implementing robust back-end services.

  • Optimising performance and scalability: Ensuring the application remains fast, reliable, and capable of handling increasing data volumes and user demands.

  • Collaborating across the stack: Working closely with product managers, product designers, data scientists, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end features and solutions that drive value for our clients.

Your Tasks

Your primary focus will be on the end-to-end development life cycle of our web applications, from concept to deployment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying new features and functionalities for both the front-end (web interface) and back-end (APIs, services) of our applications.

  • Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python for back-end services and relevant front-end frameworks.

  • Collaborating with product managers and UX/UI designers to translate user requirements and wireframes into technical specifications and deliver exceptional user experiences.

  • Implementing and advocating for software engineering best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, and comprehensive documentation.

  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues across the full stack.

  • Participating in architectural discussions and contributing to the technical roadmap of our products. This includes owning our back & front end tech stack: while we currently use Ploty Dash, exploring other technologies will form part of your responsibilities.

  • Keeping up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in full stack development.
