Job Description

This position is part of the S&E (Structuring & Execution) department, which encompasses the following areas of expertise: project management, contract and purchasing management, supply chain management, construction management, technical expertise, being responsible for two main work streams in the following areas:

  • Continuous improvement of our methods: Improve, complete and deploy processes, tools, models and training (including interfaces with other business units), based on REX,
  • Support projects in their various phases, taking on M&E roles (linked to our areas of expertise) in project teams, with a particular focus on the structuring and execution phases.

Within S&E team, the Supply Chain Management team is taking care of our global procurement strategy, our category management strategy of our various products & services and our logistic operations.

As the EPC Category Manager, you will be aiming to increase our level of control & knowledge for the EPC Contractors´category and to standardize our methodology for all the regions.

Based in the head office of Paris, your main tasks will be as follow :

Strategy Development:

  • Develop a global overview on the market of EPC contractors, assessing them both at the global and regional levels (presence, trackrecord by techno, capabilities, country targers), and HV Equipment suppliers/Service providers,
  • Analyze market trends, industry best practices, and contractors’ capabilities, reliability, and pricing levels, aiming to anticipate/assess changes/disruption that might impact our operations,
  • Issue price guidance, followed by a detailed presentation to the corporate senior management and subsidiaries, enabling informed decision-making aligned with the company's strategic objectives,
  • Propose procurement and contracting strategies with qualified contractors and suppliers to align with business needs,
  • Draft and negotiate frame agreements with EPC contractors, with internal support from the Contract & Procurement team and relevant Akuo Business Units and ensure proper follow up after signature.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify and qualify potential EPC contractors in accordance with relevant regulations and internal policies,
  • Contribute to the definition of EPC contractors to be consulted for RFPs (pre PPA award and Post PPA award),
  • Conduct regular supplier assessments and third-party audits to ensure compliance and performance in terms of ESG and Quality,
  • Monitor contractor performance, address issues, manage conflict situations on behalf of the project team, and drive improvements in quality, schedule, and cost-effectiveness,
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key EPC contractors and serve as the main point of contact with their key account managers,
  • Involvement, as support to the Project teams, in strategic topics such as Claims, tender processes, contract negotiation, and audits,
  • Design and implement the EPC strategy applicable on a global scale, including a 'supplier panel' based on KPIs.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on category performance, key performance indicators, and cost-saving achievements,
  • Consolidate Akuo project needs to create an accurate 3-year procurement plan for internal financial budgeting purposes and external communication with suppliers and contractors,
  • Monitor project budgets for EPC Contractors in collaboration with the project teams,
  • Ensure proper feedback is provided to EPC Contractors about their contribution and performance in RFPs/consultations for PPA Tenders, RFPs during structuration, Execution of projects, including capitalization on REX.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience,
  • Previous EPC Contractor experience is mandatory as well as an international and multicultural exposure,
  • Preferred area of experience:

Main: Business development and commercial skills, project management.

Secondary: contract negotiation and contract management experience.

Excellent French and English both oral and written is mandatory. Spanish or other language is a plus.

  • position is open to remote work, up to 2 days per week + 10 floating days per year (i.e. 100 days per year).
