1.Company description
hummingbirds is an independent Nature-based Solutions (NbS) project developer, founded in spring 2022. We aim at filling a gap in nature ecosystem to build bridges between large corporate / institutional investment capital and on the ground operations through capacity building and carbon finance, mainly on greenfield projects.
To tackle the climate and biodiversity loss crisis while empowering local stakeholders, we have decided to focus our activities on conservation, forest restoration, sustainable forestry, blue carbon, wetlands/peatlands and improved cooking solutions.
Our main activities are:
hummingbirds has ambitious goals for 2026 and is looking for an autonomous and entrepreneurial profile, passionate about nature with strong ethics to commercialize environmental attributes from climate positive projects in Europe and developing countries with high co-benefits for local communities and biodiversity.
Our team of 25 enthusiastic and dedicated collaborators is located half in Europe (Paris, Madrid) and half overseas (Accra, Nairobi, Mexico, São Paulo, Melbourne). We currently have 7 nationalities in the team and over 60% of women.
2.Job description
The position is based in Paris, France.
As a Business Development Intern, you will join hummingbirds’ fast-growing international team and actively contribute to the commercialization of high-integrity nature-based carbon credits generated by our global portfolio of projects. You will support the company’s growth by helping expand our client base, strengthen our market positioning, and develop our sales and marketing tools in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.
You will work directly with the Business Development Manager and Chief Commercial Officer, gaining hands-on experience in the voluntary carbon market, corporate climate strategies, and international carbon finance. You will also have the opportunity to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, from corporate buyers and brokers to institutional partners.
The internship offers a unique exposure to the fast-evolving carbon markets and the opportunity to contribute to the company’s mission of accelerating the transition toward a nature-positive and low-carbon world.
The position is for a 6-month internship, with the possibility of employment depending on performance and business needs.
As a Business Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to:
Contribute to commercial growth and client development:
Support the prospection and outreach of new corporate clients and partners globally.
Conduct due diligence on clients’ climate policies, sustainability commitments, and carbon credit procurement strategies.
Participate in sales meetings, calls, and presentations, both in preparation and in direct interaction with prospects.
Contribute to the structuring of commercial offers and proposals, including pricing, volume allocation, and co-benefits presentation.
Help monitor and analyze the carbon credit demand dynamics, corporate climate trends, and competitor positioning.
Maintain and update the company’s CRM database and track business development performance indicators;
Support marketing and communication initiatives:
Consolidate and refine marketing and communication materials (brochures, project one-pagers, pitch decks, presentations).
Contribute to the development of digital marketing content (website, newsletters, social media, client case studies).
Ensure brand consistency and visual coherence across materials, demonstrating a strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail.
Support the preparation of sales campaigns and visibility actions, in coordination with the communication team.
Participate in market intelligence and competitor benchmarking, identifying emerging trends and new business opportunities.
Representation and networking:
Support the organization of client meetings and professional events (sectorial afterworks, roundtables, webinars, etc.).
Act as an ambassador of hummingbirds’ mission and values, advocating for high-integrity, community-driven nature-based solutions.
The ideal candidate will be a Master’s student from a top business school with a first internship experience in sales, consulting, finance, sustainability, or strategy.
They will demonstrate a strong commercial mindset combined with curiosity for environmental issues and the voluntary carbon market.
