Entrepreneurship in the territories: is it the right time?

At Earthworm Foundation, we work with our members and partners to make value chains an engine of prosperity for communities and ecosystems, with most of our staff operating directly on the ground where the issues are.
We see a world where forests are a boundless source of materials and a home for biodiversity; communities see their rights respected and have opportunities to develop; workers are seen as productive partners; and agriculture becomes the instrument to feed a hungry planet and keep our climate stable.
As a Sustainability Data Engineer (Solution Architect), you will be responsible for:
o Understanding the data needs of various internal teams and translating the needs into technical requirements.
o Creating, implementing, reviewing and improvinginternal data processes, including data structure, handling and quality controls.
o Managing existing database systems and integrating existing data workflows where possible.
o Creating data solutions for new commodities, products, and internal or external services.
o Exploring new tools & technologies to apply to our data workflows and products.
o Leading different data projects and managing relationships with any external partners we work with to deliver data solutions – examples of this are: database system implementation, review of global work processes.
You may also be involved in:
o Designing, implementing and maintaining dashboards to better visualize the data and guide action.
o Supporting various teams with analysis of data to enable data-driven decisions.
With your passion for agriculture, social science, rural development, forestry and conservation, you aim to leverage your knowledge, experience and appetite for technology to generate positive impact in these areas and address the global challenges of our time.
Being an intellectual pioneer who is meticulous, detail-focused and with a continuous improvement mindset, you like when things are done well. You have an analytical background and thrive on developing reliable tools to facilitate data management, ultimately enabling your colleagues to work more efficiently. With excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding communication and a helpful, supportive attitude, you naturally animate sessions with a variety of stakeholders to work on diverse and sometimes complex projects. At ease in a dynamic environment, you are not afraid to speak up and ask peers and superiors questions in order to ensure the broader team produces high quality work. Thanks to your intensely creative, “out-of-the-box” thinking, you are able to design and build innovative data-driven solutions, user-friendly templates, tools and dashboards, as well as high-value presentations, which makes you a great asset to the team.
