Within the R&D team, the Senior Research Engineer will :

  • Maintain and help developing Deepki’s Dynamic Thermal Simulation tool. He will continuously improve its reliability in terms of coherence and robustness.

  • Participate in the development / improvement of new features: for example, generation of optimized building refurbishment actions. Explore / propose optimization algorithms for this purpose.

  • Use client or open data to better calibrate / validate / expand the perimeter of Deepki’s models

  • Understand client’s / product teams’ use cases linked to energy modeling topics (such as estimation of energy consumption or savings, measurement and verification of building’s performance improvements…) and propose solutions.

  • Participate in the development of internal APIs to expose the features developed by the R&D team

  • Carry out various statistical tasks on databases (data integration, exploratory analyses, classification, modelling, dataviz, etc.)

  • Carry out R&D projects in relation with external research laboratories

  • Present results and tools to other teams

Profile

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCES :

  • Significant experience in scientific python programming :

  • Development of code featuring scientific calculations : Simulations based on physics / mathematics, regressions, Machine learning

  • Code deployed to production or deployed as Proof of Concept

  • Code within teams (use of git, merge requests, code review, documentation, unit tests…)

  • Object-oriented programming

  • Capacity to understand, maintain, and develop scientific models (examples: simulations based on thermal modeling, regressions based on Bayesian inference)

  • Scientific approach: Study and understand state-of-the-art / reference solutions, adapt and calibrate solutions to specific business-oriented problems, thoroughly validate the proposed solutions
