About AI Forensics

AI Forensics is a non-profit organization defending digital rights through algorithmic investigations.

Our team has been pioneering algorithmic investigations techniques for more than 5 years, holding platforms accountable to their users and to the law.

Our investigations have received coverage on major media outlets, like the Washington Post or the Guardian. Our reports have been cited by the United Nations, the US and French Senate. We are also informing tech regulation at the European Union level.

Recent projects relate to:

  • Double standards in user-generated content moderation vs promoted content
  • Self-harm and suicide content on TikTok
  • Exposing widespread pro-Russian propaganda on Meta
  • Use of generative AI imagery in political campaigns
  • Impact of recommendation personalization on YouTube

This work is funded through grants and foundations, including the Open Society Foundation, the European Commission and the Mozilla Foundation.

We particularly welcome applications from women and people who are part of marginalised groups as diverse perspectives are critical to our work.

About the job

Help us hold influential platforms accountable!

We are looking for a Communications Lead to maximise the impact of our algorithmic investigations. You will develop and lead the execution of the AI Forensics Communications strategy, which will enable us to take our work in defending digital rights to the next level.

Press relations with technology journalists will be a key part of the job. You will accelerate the success we have had in generating coverage in the most reputable international media to drive visibility and engagement with our research.

As the Communications Lead you will build the AI Forensics community. This will involve increasing our social media presence, newsletter readership, as well as developing our thought leader positioning and our signature voice by creating a regular flow of high quality content (social media, web, email etc).

Work environment

You will join a full remote organization with AI Forensics team members spread across Europe. The entire Communications workstream is yours to lead and you will have the support of an experienced designer and web developer.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team of technologists and researchers to showcase their expertise in algorithmic auditing. Platforms are not keen on being scrutinized, so collaboration and creativity define the ways in which you will help us put the spotlight on opaque algorithms.

The AI Forensics team works against racism, misogyny, ableism, homophobia, transphobia and any structural discrimination. Should you be impacted by any of these, please know we are looking for irreducible talent and would be pleased to receive your application.
