THE ROLE
As a Senior Sustainability Strategist at Quantis, you will play a key role in driving business development efforts within the Fashion & Sporting Goods sector, managing client relationships at the Department Head/CSO level. You will use your consulting skills to identify client needs, propose tailored solutions, and support project delivery while focusing on expanding business opportunities in your sector.
You will play a critical role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, ensuring the firm’s continued growth and impact. As a cutting-edge sustainability transformation expert, you will leverage Quantis’ ecosystem and expertise to guide clients through the necessary steps to operate within planetary boundaries, co-creating a sustainable business vision before and during project delivery.
AS A SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGIST, HERE’S A PREVIEW OF WHAT TYPE OF WORK YOUR DAYS WILL INCLUDE:
This role encompasses business development, client relationship management and project management.
Business development & client relationship management:
- Grow the accounts you oversee, ensuring their progress toward operating within planetary boundaries while identifying new business opportunities.
- Understand and proactively address sustainability challenges from the perspectives of competitive advantage, risk, and opportunities, in collaboration with senior client stakeholders (e.g., CSO, sustainability department heads).
- Lead key client transformation journeys, leveraging relationships with clients, Quantis internal stakeholders, BCG’s network (our parent company), and the broader client ecosystem.
- Create opportunities for joint Quantis-BCG projects focused on sustainable business transformation.
- Support clients in building the business case for sustainability transformation and unlocking necessary budgets for development and execution.
- Strategize with clients on their business pressures and opportunities, aligning sustainability initiatives with their broader corporate strategy.
- Connect the sustainability vision to key department stakeholders, ensuring alignment of the client development plan with key contacts across the organization.
- Lead the co-creation of innovative proposals and customized solution offerings.
- Lead several sector initiatives, coordinating internal teams and external contributors when necessary.
Project management & delivery:
- Lead the implementation of sustainability strategy projects, working closely with key client stakeholders and Quantis/BCG colleagues to design and execute effective strategies.
- Ensure coherence in the pricing strategy across branches, balancing ambition with practicality to meet both client and internal expectations.
- Secure the appropriate internal resources and ensure proper staffing to achieve project profitability goals.
- Act as the Project Manager, accountable for the quality of project deliverables and guiding project teams to ensure high-quality execution and alignment with project objectives.
- Mentor and train consultants in strategy skills, offering on-the-job development and learning opportunities.
- Regularly review the transformation progress with both the Quantis team and the client, ensuring continued alignment and progress.
- Actively participate in project delivery, providing senior expertise at key moments in the process when needed.
- Serve as an effective team leader, identifying and addressing skill or knowledge gaps within project teams and suggesting process or system improvements to enhance overall team effectiveness.
- Ensure and be accountable for the quality of client deliverables, developing the sustainability transformation strategy, and reviewing the transformation progress with both the Quantis team and the client.
