CarbonFarm is looking for an Operations Manager to be responsible for:
- Coordinating the sourcing of ground data
- Ensuring the quality of ground data
- Performing simple analyses and creating ops data dashboards
You will be working closely with the Business team of CarbonFarm, responsible for client management, as well as with the Technical team that is responsible for the downstream use of ground data.
We are looking for someone with a high level of autonomy and accountability. The incumbent needs to be capable and comfortable approaching, contracting, and working with geographically dispersed global teams with our projects while working in a remote setting. This position requires a high degree of organisational and project management skills. We are also looking for a person solution-oriented with an analytical mindset and constantly looking for the improvement of existing processes and tools.
Responsibilities 🔎
Coordinate operations & ground-data sourcing
- Serve as a customer-facing point of contact for coordination and operation-related topics with clients, ensuring alignment and smooth communication
- Understand or define business, technical, and quality criteria and constraints required for sourcing ground data
- Manage administrative aspects of sourcing local providers and equipment (deliveries of devices, payments, procurement orders, performance tracking, storage of devices…)
- Support project partners on the ground or service providers by onboarding and training on the digital tools provided by CarbonFarm as well as the Quality assurance procedures
- Coordinate for the services being outsourced with external providers and collection of ground data, in collaboration with CarbonFarm’s internal teams
- Propose and prioritise solutions to problems identified in collaboration with CarbonFarm’s team
- Conduct regular monitoring of the on-the-ground service providers’ market and provide recommendations, including cost/benefit analysis
Quality assurance & data analytics
- Collect feedback from external users of CarbonFarm’s tool and coordinate with the Product team for continuous improvement
- Monitor Data Quality using existing Monitoring Tools
- Perform simple analyses and data visualisations to monitor data quality
- Perform data cleansing to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and ready to use
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies, and solve problems related to the sourcing of ground data
Qualifications 🎓
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience
- Experience working in international environments with people from different cultures
- Experience in managing external service providers
- Experience with procurement processing (goods and services) and contract management
- Interest in operations topics
- Doer and problem-solver mindset
- Interest in working in Climate Change, Carbon Markets, Environment, and/or Agriculture
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications (docs, sheets, slides)
- Proven ability to work independently in remote work settings
- Excellent attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- SQL and data visualisation skills or willingness to learn
- Comfortable with data analysis and learning new digital tools
- Knowledge of the French language
- Knowledge of any other languages relevant to rice-producing countries
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Degree in engineering
