Automotive Cells Company (ACC) is one of Europe’s newest and most exciting high-tech companies. Backed by Saft-Total, Stellantis and Mercedes-Benz, ACC is set to power the future of the automotive industry by innovating in battery technology.
 
We aim to produce sustainable, affordable, high-capacity, longer-life batteries as a cleaner alternative to current energy sources. We have created an R&D center and new state-of-the art facility in Nouvelle Aquitaine, France, and we are building gigafactories in Germany and Italy, in addition to the one already built in Hauts de France.

The Expert embodies a high level of knowledge on Product Chemistry technical strategic field.

  • He/She contributes to ACC results & performance by bringing his/her experience and supporting new technologies ramp up.
  • He/She takes actively part to technical roadmap definition within his/her expertise field
  • He/She is committed in problem solving and accountable for operational duties.
  • He/She provides internal training on topics related.
  • He/She represents ACC externally though campus management, technical groups and external initiatives

  • He/ She works with all organizations within ACC

I.Internal roles :

Is in charge of the main technical and strategical decisions in his field, roadmap’s building & implementation in his field. Is the reference in his field of expertise across the company.

Contribution to company results :

  • Provides technical orientations and make tests / technical synthesis
  • Participates in reviews and technical choices for strategic projects ; suggests how products and technologies should evolve.
  • Validates best technical & economical choices for projects, and pilots innovating developments
  • Validates actions plans & analysis to solve market quality crisis and weak points in development
  • Converts customer requirements and market trends into technical specifications
  • Formalizes the state-of-the-art in his field and recommends improvement actions (standards, processes, lessons-learned implementation)

Technologies & skills development :

  • Is the reference in his field of expertise across the company.
  • Defines mid-term / long term strategic technologies and skills required for their optimization.
  • Ensures the protection of innovative technical solutions, being member of IP committee. KPI: Patents filling, inventions disclosures, proven records of innovation.
  • Participates in implementation of creative approaches and participates in innovative projects. 
  • Develops cooperation and synergy with suppliers and customers.
  • Mentoring : Teaches and carries out Internal training courses, is responsible to produce technical content (ex: ACC Expertise Days). Identifies, trains and develops a network of specialists in his technical field in ACC. Trains and develops Experts & Senior Experts in his technical field in ACC.
  • Upgrade continuously his knowledge & know-how.

II.External roles :

Catching mid-term & long technical trends

  • Carries out benchmarking with competitors
  • Collaborates with suppliers on priority innovations
  • Updates permanently his expertise through active participation to different external events : symposiums, conferences, congresses, scientific organizations (including interns management)
  • Has regular meeting/visit to research in external labs, centers of excellence, universities.

Profil recherché

Knowledge / Know how :

  •  Technical background (depending on technical strategic field : battery chemistry, battery mechanics, battery safety, battery system, …)

Experience (domain, number of years) :

  • 25 years of experience in its technical field of expertise

Qualifications (diplomas,…) :

  • PhD or equivalent mandatory
  • English mandatory

Key behaviours :

  • Leads expertise growth – Sharing experience and knowledge - Mentoring

Some extra skills which make the difference :

  • Experience in battery industry
