Description of the mission

The Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI) is a global coalition working to establish fair, responsible, and sustainable mica supply chains.

We are seeking a motivated and analytical intern to support RMI’s work on traceability, data analysis, and responsible sourcing practices.

This 4–5 month internship (starting March/April 2026, flexible) combines research, operational support, member engagement, and data analysis. The intern will contribute to traceability system development, support RMI’s annual traceability data campaign, assist members with data-related queries, and help transform raw data into actionable insights and reports.

The role also includes contributing to a supplier survey project on responsible purchasing practices, from design to analysis and reporting.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to global supply chains, industry collaboration, and real-world sustainability challenges in complex sourcing contexts.

Location: Remote (with regular online coordination).

Profile

We are looking for a candidate who:

Is currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s programme (sustainability, international development, supply chain management, business, public policy, mining, or related fields)
Has strong analytical skills and is comfortable working with data
Can conduct structured research and synthesize findings clearly
Is detail-oriented and well organized
Is comfortable working independently in a remote setting
Has excellent written and spoken English
Has a genuine interest in responsible sourcing and supply chain sustainability

Experience with traceability systems, due diligence frameworks, or survey design is a plus but not required.
