Focus on our activities in Afghanistan
The Afghanistan Mission has existed since 1979. 20 expatriates and 900 local employees are currently working on the mission. PUI is developing its integrated approach in Health, Nutrition, MHPSS and WaSH. In addition, PUI works on a fixed-site intervention via primary health centers or first aid centers, in support of certain hospitals, or via the deployment of mobile clinics in the most remote areas. Today, the mission consists of 4 main projects implemented in 7 provinces (East : Laghman, Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar / Southeast : Paktia, Ghazni / Central: Kabul), some of which are linked.
What about the Logistics Coordinator ?
En tant que Coordinateur·trice Logistique vous serez responsable pour la mission de la mise en œuvre d’un cadre logistique adapté et organisé autour d’une chaine d’approvisionnement efficace, d’une logistique de support correctement dimensionnée. Vous serez le garant de l’application, du respect des politiques, règles, procédures et bonnes pratiques logistiques sur les bases et en capitale.
A cet effet, vos responsabilités seront les suivantes :
➜ Chaine d’approvisionnements : Vous contribuerez activement à la mise en œuvre et à la coordination de la stratégie d’approvisionnement pour la mission. Vous veillerez à ce que les composantes administratives et opérationnelles de la chaine d’approvisionnement soient en place et fonctionnelles. Vous serez garant·e du respect des procédures, politiques, processus en lien avec les fonctions achats, transports et entreposage. Vous vous assurerez que des liens étroits sont tissés avec le siège afin d'éviter les retards, les pertes, les ruptures dans la chaîne d'approvisionnement siège – terrain.
➜ Logistique de support : Vous vous assurerez de la mise à disposition des équipes des moyens, ressources, outils dont elles ont besoin pour mener à bien leurs activités. Vous contribuerez activement au dimensionnement de la mission en termes de bâtiments, matériels, équipements, services permettant le bon fonctionnement des bases.
➜ Sécurité : Vous vous assurerez de l’existence des moyens et cadres nécessaires à l’application des règles en lien avec les communications, les déplacements et la gestion des bâtiments.
➜ Gestion d’équipe : Vous serez responsable du dimensionnement RH du département logistique et de la validation des profils de postes des membres de l’équipe. Vous gèrerez directement les collaborateurs qui dépendent de vous hiérarchiquement en accord avec les politiques et procédures RH depuis le recrutement jusqu’aux évaluations de performances.
➜ Stratégie : Vous adopterez une approche proactive et suivrez la stratégie logistique de la mission, en lien avec la chaîne d'approvisionnement, la logistique de soutien en lien étroit avec le siège et l'équipe de coordination.
➜ Coordination : Vous centraliserez et diffuserez l’information logistique au sein de la mission et en direction du siège. Vous consoliderez le reporting interne et externe en la matière.
➜ Représentation : Vous représenterez l’association dans les forums, auprès des partenaires, autorités et différents acteurs locaux impliqués dans les domaines de la logistique.
The challenges that await you :
1. Operating in a highly restrictive and evolving regulatory environment, including frequent changes in requirements imposed by authorities, complex approval processes, and limitations affecting procurement, importation, movement of goods, and use of assets, all of which require constant monitoring and adaptive planning. 2. Ensuring continuity and efficiency of supply chains in a volatile security and access context, particularly for remote and hard-to-reach project locations, where insecurity, road conditions, seasonal constraints, and market instability can significantly disrupt procurement timelines and delivery of critical supplies. 3. Maintaining substantial compliance with PUI logistics procedures and diverse donor requirements while balancing operational urgency, cost efficiency, and limited local market options, especially in relation to procurement, asset management, and documentation quality across decentralized field bases. 4. Managing and building the capacity of a geographically dispersed national logistics team, including ensuring consistent technical standards, accountability, staff retention, and performance in an environment characterized by high workload, stress, and limited professional development opportunities. 5. Anticipating and mitigating operational risks linked to inflation, currency fluctuations, supplier reliability, and import constraints, while supporting mission-level planning, emergency preparedness, and potential scale-up or downscaling of activities.
What you will need to succeed
➜ Training
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in logistics (purchases, transport, etc.)
➜ Experience
Strengthened by minimum 2 years of Logistics Experience in Humanitarian Sector, you also have a general management experience. You already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? It would be a definite asset!
➜ Skills
You demonstrate strong management, organizational, report drafting and ICT skills. You have a high level of knowledge of procurement and supply chain in Humanitarian Context. Experience in Medical Supply Chain and customs/importation will be appreciated.
➜ Qualities
You demonstrate ability to take the initiative and take responsibility in a proactive approach. You are a good negotiator and communicator, both in writing and orally. You demonstrate good team spirit, leadership, sense of analysis, good organization, ability to adapt and to delegate. You have a strong capacity to resist stress and particularly in unstable circumstances.
➜ Languages
English has no secrets for you! All the better, it is mandatory for this position. If you speak Spanish, Arabic and/or French, it would be a definite asset.

PUI will offer you
• Status : Employé(e) with a Fixed-Term Contract
• Monthly Gross Income : 2650.00 - 3130.00 EUR depending on your experience in International Solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
• Insurance including medical coverage and complementary healthcare, 24/24 assistance and repatriation
• Housing in collective accomodation
• Daily Living Expenses ("Per Diem")
• Break Policy : 5 working days at 3 and 9 months + break allowance
• Paid Leaves Policy : 5 weeks of paid leaves per year + return ticket every 6 months
