What about the Deputy Area Coordinator for Programs Jalalabad ?
As Deputy Area Co Program, under the direct supervision of the Area Coordinator, you will be responsible for the design and proper implementation of all programs on several operational sites (bases) in a defined area of affectation, in line with the country strategy and in coordination with other departments, areas and coordination office.
For this purpose, you will be responsible for :
➜ Programs: You will be responsible for the proper implementation of programs in the area where the bases are located, under the supervision of the Area Coordinator. You will propose and designs new interventions in the area. You will ensure proper reporting on the program activities internally and to the donors.
➜ MEAL: You will be responsible for the good collaboration between MEAL and project teams at area level, in close collaboration with the MEAL Coordinator. You will ensure that MEAL activities are implemented with the appropriate methodology and relevant tools design, are integrated to the daily project activities and that MEAL findings are used to inform decision-making process for necessary quality adjustments in project cycle management.
➜ Human Resources: You will participate to the recruitment process, trainings and supervision of the program teams in the area.
➜ Representation: You will represent the organization, for all programmatic issues, before the partners, authorities, and various local actors operating in the area.
➜ Coordination: You will ensure that all procedures and SOPs related to programs are coherent and realistic to the regional context and are properly disseminated and implemented on the field. You will ensure that information is properly and timely shared between the region and the coordination office and follows-up for support requests.
➜ Assessment/ Strategy: You will participate in strategy development and proposes new interventions based on needs identified in the area.
The challenges that await you :
The position currently faces several key challenges: • Operating in a complex and volatile security environment, particularly in hard-to-reach areas such as Kunar and Nuristan, which can affect access, staff movement, and continuity of activities. • Managing a large, multi-sectoral portfolio (PHC, Nutrition, MHPSS, WASH) across four provinces, requiring strong coordination to ensure quality, coherence, and integration of services. • Ensuring consistent program quality and adherence to donor requirements across multiple projects and funding streams, each with specific compliance and reporting expectations. • Supporting and maintaining the performance and motivation of a sizable national team (approximately 150 staff), including capacity building, supervision, and retention in a competitive and high-pressure context. • Navigating evolving stakeholder dynamics, including coordination with local authorities, community structures, and partners, while maintaining humanitarian principles and operational access.
What you will need to succeed
➜ Training
You hold a Master Degree in Project Management.
➜ Experience
Strengthened by minimum 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. An previous experience in Safety management is prefered. You already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? It would be a definite asset!
➜ Skills
You have analytical and report writing skills. A strong work ethic, calm manner and positive attitude will be appreciated.
➜ Qualities
You demonstrate an ability to take initiatives and responsibilities. You have a sense of diplomacy and open-mindedness, good analytical skills and you are pragmatic. You demonstrate good organization, management of priorities, an ability to adapt and to work with various partners, in a spirit of openness and with adaptable communications strategies.

PUI will offer you
• Status : Employé(e) with a Fixed-Term Contract
• Monthly Gross Income : 2650.00 - 2970.00 EUR depending on your experience in International Solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
• Insurance including medical coverage and complementary healthcare, 24/24 assistance and repatriation

• Daily Living Expenses ("Per Diem")
• Break Policy : 5 working days every 8 weeks + break allowance
• Paid Leaves Policy : 5 weeks of paid leaves per year + return ticket every 6 months
