ORGANIZATION
Partium is recruiting a Director/ Executive secretary H/F under permanent contract for MedPan, in Marseille.
MedPAN's mission is to operate a network of marine protected area (MPA) managers enabling the protection and conservation of marine and coastal areas in the countries of the Mediterranean basin.
MedPAN works as a network with members and partners as well as governmental and non-governmental organisations at local, national, regional and international levels to develop its activities. One of its objectives is to create communities of actors at all levels, facilitating the link between marine planners and managers, decision-makers, scientists and other stakeholders working towards the same overall goal: healthy and sustainable oceans and coasts. Cooperation is therefore part of MedPAN's core identity and guides its operational functions, both internally and externally. MedPAN benefits from the strong commitment of its team of eight employees and its governance, which includes several bodies (Board of Directors, Scientific Committee, Advisory Committee, General Assembly, Working Groups).
The organisation is in the midst of a strategic transition and is looking for a highly qualified Executive Directorto guide the organisation through this important phase.
POSITION
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Director will ensure the strategic and operational effectiveness of MedPAN's programmes and staff, and will be primarily responsible for steering the association, overseeing operations and programmes, managing resources, shaping strategy in a collaborative spirit and representing the organisation at national and international levels.
Missions :
You hold a Master's or PhD degree in environmental sciences, marine biology, conservation, public administration, NGO management, international relations or equivalent, and ideally have additional qualifications in leadership, NGO management or programme development. You will have at least 5 years' experience in leadership and/or management in the NGO sector or a similar organisation, preferably with responsibilities related to environmental conservation, marine protection or sustainable development.
With strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will have proven experience of working with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment. An experienced leader with an international outlook, you will have solid experience of managing international teams and be able to promote high-impact organisational cultures. Sensitive to equity and inclusion, you have a keen understanding of HR issues and have had the opportunity to lead organisations in changing contexts, with a strategic approach to adaptation and growth.
Fluent in English and French, you are familiar with diverse partnership models for funding and implementing programmes, and have a good command of professional French and English.
The position is based in Marseille, with flexible working arrangements including home-working options.
The contract offered is a permanent contract with RTT (reduced working hours), to be filled as soon as possible.
Remuneration: depending on profile and experience, luncheon vouchers, gift vouchers.
