Within the Industry Adaptation domain, dedicated climate resilience and sustainable industry transformation, as a Junior Climate Risk Consultant, you will:
Perform Climate Risk Analysis and Adaptation Strategy: Conduct thorough risk screenings, scenario development, and assessments to develop targeted strategic climate adaptation plans for diverse sectors, ensuring resilience across operations.
Conduct Field Assessments & Develop Adaptation Measures: Participate in site visits to evaluate climate risks across various industries and design practical adaptation strategies, including soft (e.g., awareness programs) and hard (e.g., infrastructure upgrades) measures tailored to specific industry needs.
Support Training & Knowledge Sharing to enhance our consulting value proposal: Design and deliver training programs to build client teams’ resilience capabilities, while contributing to internal knowledge management, particularly in the context of industry-specific climate adaptation strategies.
Drive Research & Development: Contribute to R&D efforts focused on industry adaptation, including the development of climate adaptation databases, nature-based solutions, and impact assessments for various sectors.
Engage with clients to communicate complex data in an accessible way: Transform technical analyses into clear, client-friendly insights, develop decision-making tools, and contribute to workshops and stakeholder sessions to align climate adaptation strategies with client goals.
Hands-on experience in climate risk modeling and adaptation strategy design.
Exposure to real-world consulting projects across various sectors (energy, transport, manufacturing, etc.).
Opportunity to build skills in project management, climate-related topics and stakeholder communication.
Education: Pursuing a master’s degree at a top engineering school (or equivalent).
Languages: Proficient in both English and French, with excellent communication skills.
Hard Skills: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel and PowerPoint; ability to synthesize complex data into clear, high-quality reports and presentations.
Soft Skills: We seek a motivated and detail-oriented student passionate about industry, climate adaptation and resilience:
Innovative Problem-Solving: Apply creative and data-driven solutions to address industry-specific climate challenges, considering both short, mid, and long-term impacts.
Highly Curious & Quick Learner: Capacity to deep dive into various expertise topics (climate science, ESG, etc.), critical thinker, organized, and capable of multitasking in dynamic environments.
Autonomous & Proactive: A strong team player who takes initiative.
Bonus skills:
Familiarity with climate risk frameworks (e.g., TCFD, ISO 14091) or sustainability reporting standards.
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, QGIS) or basic coding skills (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
Interest in nature-based solutions and their role in climate adaptation strategies.
Experience: Previous experience in Consulting / Engineering / Startup / or climate-related roles is advantageous.
