The Human Safety Net (THSN) is Generali’s initiative for the community, launched in 2017 and now active in 23 countries. It is driven by a foundation that acts as a centre of competence and works in cooperation with the Business Units of the Generali Group in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Its mission is that of unlocking the potential of vulnerable people, so that they can transform their lives and that of their families and communities. Its programmes’ focus areas are Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Refugee Livelihoods and are based on a Theory of Change to transform the lives of vulnerable families and refugees.
The Human Safety Net provides scaling grants, technical capacity building and a strong network to advance the impact of its community of social enterprises, NGOs and international organizations. As a movement of people helping people, The Human Safety Net ambition is to deploy the company’s international network of 72,000 employees, 150,000 agents and 65 million customers towards shared goals, creating a chain of people helping people, moving beyond traditional grant making models. The Human Safety Net is a vital part of Generali’s sustainability strategy and leverages its networks and expertise in the social sector to drive social innovation in Generali’s core business.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Communications Professional to join our team as Head of Content and Communications of The Human Safety Net Foundation. The Head of Content and Communications will ensure that The Human Safety Net is viewed as a global source, engine of forward looking initiatives on the social challenges addressed by the Foundation and as Corporate Social innovator. The candidate will be able to identify and design opportunities to amplify the net, activate and grow the movement. The Head of Content and Communications will be responsible for designing and implementing communications strategies, including social media, press materials and stakeholder relations, consistently articulating the Foundation’s mission. In this role, the ability to take knowledge and transform it into relevant content, disseminate it to the right audience through the best distribution channels is critical.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Promote and enhance The Human Safety Net brand voice in the global debate, helping to expand its network among key players and influencers (social media, press, constituents, social innovation leaders, NGOs), positioning us as experts on the social challenges addressed by the Foundation
- Design and implement a multi-channel content and communications strategy, including social media and press materials, maintaining consistency and integrity across all platforms
- Set-up and activation of a specific THSN international media network, with focus on mainstream international media
- Increase external awareness and visibility of the unique THSN approach to corporate volunteering
- Promote and enhance our Partnerships with co-funders as an expression of one of our key principle and way of working: be an open net
- Work with Venice Hub staff to position/leverage content partnerships in Venice
- Develop and manage key contacts with influencers, media members and community leaders
- Select speaking platforms and manage presence of the Foundation Executives at key global events, forum and conferences
- Manage the Communications budget of the Foundation, ensuring high quality deliverables and costs efficiency
- Track engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions
