Who are we?
Tellus is dedicated to climate prediction covering a wide range of applications from agriculture to the energy sector. We are building a team of talented and driven machine learning engineers to work on climate related projects.
In partnership with Columbia University in New York, you will work closely with a team of scientists and engineers to develop and deploy machine learning models that can help us better understand and predict the impacts of climate change on our planet.
Tellus is an early stage startup founded by a Columbia Professor recognized for his research work in Climate Science and Data Science (Pierre), and his former PhD student, now an experienced and successful entrepreneur (Léo).

En partenariat avec Columbia University (New York), vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec une équipe de scientifiques et d’ingénieurs de haut niveau pour développer et déployer des modèles d’apprentissage automatique qui peuvent nous aider à mieux comprendre et prévoir les impacts du changement climatique sur notre planète.

What will you do?
In research, the engineer :
- Conducts a scientific and technological bibliography of relevant progress in artificial intelligence, specifically in probabilistic models and in the use of temporal and spatial data
- Identifies and adapts state-of-the-art algorithms and models to make prediction more efficient
- Develops and designs new models and algorithms based on a deep theoretical understanding of existing problems and solutions
For client’s projects, the engineer :
- Develops and validates these algorithms for their integration into our product and the needs of our customers
- Work to improve the performance (both in precision and execution time) and the stability of these algorithms
En recherche, l’ingénieur :
- Développe et conçoit de nouveaux modèles et algorithmes basés sur une compréhension théorique approfondie des problèmes et solutions existants
- Identifie et adapte les algorithmes et modèles de pointe pour faire de la prédiction plus efficace
- Réalise une bibliographie scientifique et technologique des avancées pertinentes en intelligence artificielle, notamment sur les modèles probabilistes et dans l’utilisation des données temporelles et spatiales
Pour les clients, l’ingénieur :
- Développe et valide ces algorithmes pour leur intégration dans notre produit, en accord avec les besoins de nos clients
- Travaille pour améliorer les performances tant en précision qu’en temps d’exécution, et la stabilité de nos algorithmes
What do we offer?
We are based in Montpellier, on the French Mediterranean Sea shore, collaborating with Columbia University in New York. Remote work is optional.
Compensation is very competitive, including full benefit under the French social security umbrella, a salary of € 60k, and an attractive bonus based on collective milestones. Compensation includes also a stock option plan, depending on individual performance and dedication.
