SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international NGO which, for over 40 years, has been helping people affected by armed conflict and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Present in more than twenty countries, the SI teams - made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at head office and a number of volunteers - work with professionalism and commitment, while respecting different cultures.
Solidarités International’s FSL interventions support populations from the shock absorption phase with food assistance and go as far as strengthening the resilience of their livelihoods to cope with and adapt to future shocks (see SI’s 2025 FSL strategyfor more information). The overall objective of FSL teams in the field is to ensure sustainable food and economic security for populations affected by conflict, economic or health shocks or natural disasters. The FSL sector at Solidarités International will be strengthened in 2024 with the arrival of additional resources at head office level. In particular, we want to develop our activities to strengthen the economic security of vulnerable populations by supporting their access to employment or entrepreneurship, particularly in the agricultural and food sectors.
