The Investment Associate will be a member of Quadia’s impact investment team, contributing to sourcing, assessing, negotiating and structuring direct investment opportunities as well as supporting and working with portfolio companies to scale their impact until exit. As such, s/he will work hand in hand with other members of the impact investment team, and interact with investees, co-investors, external service providers and partners. S/He will also support the implementation of investment monitoring and reporting.

The Investment Associate will mainly work on late-VC and Growth-stage investment opportunities for Quadia’s investment mandates, including Regenero Impact Fund which Quadia manages jointly with the Belgian bank Degroof Petercam, as well as selected Club Deals.

The main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Market research: contribute to assessing sector-specific trends and identifying investment opportunities in the impact investing space in pre-defined sectors: smart energy, sustainable food and agriculture, and circular economy;
  • Sourcing: actively support sourcing and selection of investment opportunities through network, participation at relevant industry events and relevant research and outreach activities;
  • Assessment of late-VC and Growth-stage impact enterprises;
  • Financial Modelling: conduct detailed assessments of investee financials and projections, including sensitivity analysis and valuation models to support investment analysis and decisions;
  • Due Diligence: participate in due diligence assessments of specific investment opportunities, including meetings with investees and co-investors and coordination with external consultants;
  • Writing investment memoranda to provide detailed analyses to the Investment Committee;
  • Structuring: support investment structuring, negotiation and deal execution processes;
  • Monitoring: participate in investment management and monitoring of specific deals, providing insights into risk and performance metrics across both financial and impact dimensions;
  • Reporting: contribute to periodic internal and external reporting.
Profile
  • Master’s level education in finance or equivalent business administration;
  • 3+ years professional working experience, ideally including hands-on investment activities in private equity, venture capital, M&A corporate advisory or corporate finance;
  • Analytical mind with attention to detail, coupled with good oral and written communication skills and ability to summarize complex matters in concise terms;
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize your tasks;
  • Solid financial modelling skills as well as experience with direct investment deal structuring, agreements and documentation;
  • Good communication skills. Curiosity and willingness to work in an international team on European opportunities;
  • Strong interest in the impact investing sector and understanding of evolving sustainability challenges in Quadia’s focus sectors of smart energy, sustainable food and circular economy;
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, ability to work well autonomously and in a team;
  • Personal commitment to sustainability in line with Quadia’s core values of integrity and authenticity;
  • Excellent French and English required, German would be a strong plus, as well as any other European language (Spanish, Italian, etc.).
