The Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa (PPLAAF) and Climate Whistleblowers (CW) are NGOs based in France, Senegal, and South Africa, that seeks to defend whistleblowers, as well as strategically litigate and advocate on their behalf, where their disclosures speak to the public interest of African citizens.

PPLAAF and CW are seeking a Project Manager. Full-time position (CDI), based in Paris, for immediate start.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of strategic plans for PPLAAF and CW ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient operational processes.
  • Supervise annual planning and monitor activities, addressing operational challenges and minimizing financial and organizational risks.
  • Develop and implement security and risk management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including bank payments, accounting, and adherence to financial policies, donor requirements, and regulations.
  • Coordinate financial and narrative reports to donors, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Organize and manage relationships between PPLAAF and CW, overseeing movements of whistleblowers, events, team retreats, and travel coordination.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (donors, partners, NGOs) to foster collaboration in program implementation and fundraising efforts.
  • Provide support during emergency situations concerning whistleblowers, ensuring efficient and safe navigation.
  • Lead and coach a team of program/project managers, fostering a positive organizational culture, and promoting internal communication and skill development.
  • Set meaningful individual and collective goals aligned with the organizations’ mission to uphold human rights, combat corruption, and support the rule of law.
  • Act under the guidance of the Executive Director and contribute as a member of the executive team.
  • Promote learning, capitalize on best practices, and improve internal procedures and project management tools for enhanced effectiveness.
  • Assist in human resources management, supporting recruitment, onboarding, HR compliance, employee relations, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
Profile

Requirements (as per original job description):

  • At least 3 years’ experience in operational management or related fields within civil society, international organizations, or public service.
  • Ability to handle complex operations, work under pressure, and lead diverse teams.
  • Strong financial management skills and experience in donor reporting and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluency in multiple languages, including English and French.
  • Capacity for international travel and working in a multicultural environment.
