PLACE is an innovative NGO with a start-up spirit headquartered in Paris and working on migration in Europe since 2017.

We are looking for a professional with exceptional skills in organisational performance and a track record in growing projects, to support the leadership team in taking PLACE to its next level of growth.

PLACE is looking for someone who wants to build the organisation in the long-term by pro-actively developing it, and therefore who wishes a long-term involvement with the project.

The team is headquartered in Paris, France, but remote working is possible depending on the profile, with regular team days in Paris. Fluency in English and French, both written and oral, is required, as well as comfort with distributed, fast-moving, agile teams.

Role description

The Financial and Administration Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring effective financial and budgetary management, overseeing accounting processes, managing human resources, and ensuring administrative and legal compliance within the organisation. This position is responsible for preparing audit documents and schedules and coordinating with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes, and ensuring timely and quality financial and technical reporting to meet both internal and external regulatory requirements.

  • Efficiently manage financial resources, oversee accounting processes, and lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Prepare audit documents and schedules, collaborate with external auditors, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Support financial planning for EU projects, including budget preparation, financial forecasting, cost analysis, and adherence to EU funding guidelines, along with regular financial reporting to meet the requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive file management system for financial, administrative, and personnel files, including health benefits records.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial records while maintaining compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage human resources functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with administrative and legal regulations.
  • Play a key proactive role in fundraising efforts by preparing financial data for grant applications and providing financial data-driven inputs to secure funding.
Profile

Qualification:

  • University degree in finance, management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably within the nonprofit or NGO sector.
  • Experience in grant management (preferably EU)
  • Fluency in French labour administration procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion, humility, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.

Retribution between 2300 and 2600€ BRUT (before tax) depending on experience and versatility of the profile.

As a prerequisite, the successful candidate must believe in the core values of PLACE and be driven by the mission. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for breaking new ground to lead social change. Beyond that, we are seeking a candidate that has proven experience in scaling a purpose-driven organisation and a demonstrated ability to build the capabilities of an agile, driven and diverse team.
