Main missions

As an intern, in collaboration with the design office, your missions will include:

• Define, specify and justify technical choices

• Design and dimension composite structures and parts

• Generate 3D CAD and 2D drawings

• Ensure manufacturing and assembly feasibility

• Make suggestions for optimizing OceanWings® products

• Participate in the development of design office tools

Internship topics proposal (to be discussed):

In addition to daily activities related to composite design, focus could be done during the internship on one of the following topics:

Composite structure bolted connection design tool

Undertake a research and development campaign along with FEA and structure testing to help in the design of an internal tool for composite bolted connections

Support the design office in daily activities for Oceanwings® composite structure design.

Composite structure bonded connection design tool

Undertake a research and development campaign along with FEA and structure testing to help in the design of an internal tool for composite bonded connections

Support the design office in daily activities for Oceanwings® composite structure design.

Composite structure tests for certification

In the frame of the certification phase with DNV for material tests, intermediate and full-scale tests of an Oceanwings® structure, write tests specifications, follow and analyse tests results and participate in writing test reports.

Profile

Who we are looking for:

With an engineering school background, you are passionate about technological challenges and possess strong knowledge in composite structures.

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialisation in Composite material or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge in composite structural design and composite components manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of the full industrial development cycle (concept, design, manufacturing, testing, certification, installation, maintenance).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plan and create 3D parts. Knowledge of composite specific drawings is a plus.
  • Good understanding of the finite element analysis studies to be able to work hand in hand with the FEA team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: An analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and propose innovative solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively and document findings clearly and concisely. Fluency in English is essential.
  • Adaptability: A proactive attitude and eagerness to work on varied projects in dynamic settings
