Talents4Good is looking for a

Research Coordinator (f/*/m)

with a focus on Economics for the project “Healthy Food: True cost, fair prices and affordability”

for foodwatch International asap, in France, Brussels or remote in a European country

Are you passionate about making an impact and driving change in the food sector? Do you want to be part of a consumer rights organisation, citizen-based watchdog in the agri-food sector, that advocates for safe and healthy food for all? Then you should keep on reading!

foodwatch is a European civil society organisation (CSO) for a sustainable and democratic food system. With offices in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Vienna, we fight for the right to safe and healthy food and against fraud and misleading practices of companies. We want laws that are not dictated by the agri-food industry lobby but benefit everyone and are consistently enforced by governments and authorities. foodwatch is an independent counter-power, and do not accept any funding from governments, the food industry, or the EU.

Your future tasks

With your strong economic background, you ensure the development and coordination of the foodwatch research and the project on “healthy food for all: true cost, fair prices and affordability” under the supervision of the Executive Director of foodwatch France and in close collaboration with the international foodwatch team.

  • Your goal is to gain an overview of available policies and scientific and economic analyses: identify knowledge gaps and commission research from external researchers as relevant.
  • Conduct a context analysis, issue and actors mapping, with recommendations for potential points of intervention for foodwatch.
  • Translate the findings from the scientific and economic sphere into our organisation. Together we develop a clear short and mid-term strategy based on your findings and propose campaign ideas that contribute to the overall project goal.
  • Ensure at international foodwatch level the vision and consistency of the project and the exchange of best practices.
  • Start the project with a focus on France, ensuring transferability of the results and keeping in mind the wide scope of the European Union (especially Austria, Brussels, Germany, Netherlands)
  • Ensure adequate and effective liaison and coordination with relevant external actors – economists, sociologists, researchers, experts, NGOs, etc.
  • Keep an overview of the allocated budget and resources for this project.

Our offer

  • **Permanent contract, competitive salary, and goodies:**g., pension allowance, additional holiday between Christmas and NYE, throughout the year, pro rata payments for public transportation, furniture in the home office, glasses for work, etc. The salary is depending on your knowledge, experience, and your country of residence.
  • Flexibility: Depending on your place of residence, you can work remotely between 60% and 100%.
  • Good employer: A modern organizational and error culture and a dedicated, close-knit, and flexible team.
  • A meaningful job: foodwatch stands up for better and transparent food and consumer rights - you support us in a central position to achieve these goals.
  • Great working environment: a highly varied job in a professional international organization that embraces and supports initiative and self-direction, and to which you can really contribute; unique collaboration with (international) campaigners where you regularly meet online but also offline to discuss strategies. Our goal is to let you grow in a stimulating work environment of an international, action-oriented organization.
