What we're looking for 👀

CarbonFarm is looking for a final-year student or recent graduate to come work with us in Paris as a full stack developer intern.

We are a diverse team of 11 people, working towards decarbonising rice farming using satellites, remote sensing and artificial intelligence.

You will be working principally with a senior full stack developer, but will also have the opportunity to learn from the rest of the company, such as our data architect, scientists and scientific software engineers.

This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to experience living in Paris, France, and who is interested in working at the intersection of technology, science and the environment.

Ideally, you would have an interest in working with maps and geospatial datasets, as well as working with cloud-native APIs. We are doing some super interesting stuff using recent innovations in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud-based geospatial technologies and Google Cloud Platform.

The internship will be for six months at Station F in Paris, France, with a flexible start date.

Responsibilities 💻

  • Develop modern web app functionalities and visualisations with React/TypeScript, Next.js, MapLibre and Google Cloud Platform APIs
  • Improve our public-facing website (https://carbonfarm.tech)
  • Work with big geospatial datasets using Python, GDAL and QGIS
  • Build iOS and Android mobile apps for offline fieldwork using React Native/TypeScript
