Consulting within AXA Climate

AXA Climate (Corporate site, Linkedin) has developed complete business lines to help tackle climate change adaptation (Climate School, Insurance, Consulting for Industry/Agri/Finance/Public sector). Globally, we are a team of 250 climate enthusiasts, headquartered in Paris, spread over 5 continents and driven by the same desire for impact. A third of AXA Climate team-members are dedicated to help public and private stakeholders adapt by placing Data, Climate, Biodiversity, and Impact Valuation at the heart of their strategy: that’s our consulting business.

You will join the team dedicated to Corporate companies, named Industry Adaptation (all businesses except private equity, agriculture, and public sector). We help corporate companies in various sectors to understand their climate and ESG risks to set up an adaptation strategy.

AXA Climate initial and core expertise is on climate physical risks, but our value proposition includes today biodiversity loss risks, nature-bases solutions, transition risksdecarbonizationESG and Sustainable Finance.

You will also work closely with transversal teams (mainly Data and Science teams, but also the other consulting practices and even the Climate School).


✨ Your job as a Consultant


Within the Industry Adaptation domain, as a Climate Risk Consultant Intern, you will:

  • Perform Climate Risk Analysis and Adaptation Strategy: Conduct thorough risk screenings, scenario development, and assessments to develop targeted strategic climate adaptation plans for diverse sectors, ensuring resilience across operations.

  • Conduct Field Assessments & Develop Adaptation Measures: participate in site visits to evaluate climate risks across various industries and design practical adaptation strategies, including soft (e.g., awareness programs) and hard (e.g., infrastructure upgrades) measures tailored to specific industry needs.

  • Support Training & Knowledge Sharing to enhance our consulting value proposal: Design and deliver training programs to build client teams’ resilience capabilities, while contributing to internal knowledge management, particularly in the context of industry-specific climate adaptation strategies.

  • Drive Research & Development: Contribute to R&D efforts focused on industry adaptation, including the development of climate adaptation databases, nature-based solutions, and impact assessments for various sectors.

Profile
  • Education: Pursuing a master’s degree at a top engineering school (or equivalent).

  • Languages: Proficient in both English and French, with excellent communication skills.

  • Hard Skills: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel and PowerPoint; ability to synthesize complex data into clear, high-quality reports and presentations.

  • Soft Skills: We seek a motivated and detail-oriented student passionate about industry, climate adaptation and resilience:

    • Innovative Problem-Solving: Apply creative and data-driven solutions to address industry-specific climate challenges, considering both short, mid and long-term impacts.

    • Highly curious with the capacity to learn fast new topics and to deep dive into various expertise topics (climate science, ESG, etc.): critical thinker, organized, and capable of multitasking in dynamic environments.

    • Autonomous: proactive, and a strong team player.

  • Experience: Previous experience in Consulting / Engineering / Startup / or climate-related roles is advantageous.
