  • ASC is currently looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Market Development Manager in France to join our expert team to deepen and expand the uptake of ASC’s certification and labelling program in the region, primarily by engaging and servicing commercial partners such as retailers, brands and their suppliers, but also strategic landscape shapers like NGOs or institutions who could endorse us. You will be focused on increasing awareness and understanding of the ASC and the role that we play in delivering solutions to the social and environmental challenges of Aquaculture. The primary goals will be enhancing the quality of key commercial partner engagement, building effective working relationships and securing new commercial and non-commercial partners and endorsers. You will be joining us at an exciting time of growth to pro-actively lead actions on a daily basis including,Maintain and expand relationships with a wide range of stakeholders: feed mills, local farms, commercial partners like retailers, brands, seafood suppliers and importers, and landscape shapers such as NGOs and institutions.

  • Effectively contribute to building preference for ASC’s certification and labelling program amongst commercial partners, and foster their commitment to ASC

  • Building trust and awareness around the ASC certification by collaborating with NGOs, other certification programs (ISEAL members) and consumer organisations

  • Engage stakeholders in the improvement of our programme

  • Represent and promote the ASC externally at various levels in the French market

  • Carry internally the expectations and wishes of commercial partners and non-commercial stakeholders regarding the further development of the ASC programme back into the organization

  • Strengthen ASCs market intelligence of the region

  • Support all our marketing and communication activations

  • Create and lever opportunities of commercial partners in communication and marketing efforts to promote the ASC programme to end-consumers and build recognition of the ASC label (such as engaging partners in a joint campaign week)

  • Ensure the good use of our label and messaging in the external assets and packagings

  • Collaborate closely with the ASC global and local marcomms department to support commercial partners in their marketing needs and champion them

Profile

In this role, you will convey the value of the ASC programme, our logo and all we stand for. We need a resilient, driven, and passionate person who sees challenges as opportunities! The right person will have a good understanding of how a third party certification programme works in combination with excellent stakeholder management and business development skills. You will be a motivated, passionate, and resilient market development/outreach professional, with a willingness to learn and develop within our organisation.

To be successful in this role, it will be beneficial to have;

  • Degree level or higher qualification, in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in and/or exposure to a similar role
  • Strong influencing, adaptability, and approachability in customer service to win over and manage expectations of our key commercial partners and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good knowledge of aquaculture and some experience with another aquaculture/seafood/marine company or NGO in the region, if possible

We will need you to be fluent in written and spoken English and French. Any additional language skill will be seen as a great advantage as ASC is a global organisation! You must be eligible to live and work in the region.

The ASC works across different time zones so the pattern of hours may vary according to operational needs. Some domestic and international travel and overnight stays may be required occasionally for events like our team / all-staff retreats.
