WriteMyPaperBro is looking for an Editor to serve as a strategic partner in advancing the company’s marketing efforts. The Editor should have a keen eye for detail, expert knowledge of the English language, and an advanced understanding of SEO writing and strategy. They will be responsible for reviewing and editing content, ensuring it is on brand, on message, and error-free. The Editor will also contribute to various marketing goals by generating original content and spearheading projects that advance the company’s brand, voice, and messaging.
A successful candidate understands that all writing is a reflection of a company’s brand and strives to produce exceptional, engaging, clear, and polished content.
Responsibilities
Edit a consistently high volume of SEO writing for grammar, punctuation, clarity, and concision; writing includes how tos, FAQs, articles, titles and descriptions, long-reads, etc.
Ensure writing fulfills goals of SEO strategy and content briefs.
Make editorial decisions informed by a thorough understanding of the company’s brand, product positioning, and audiences.
Ensure the logical flow, precise messaging, and appropriate style/voice of writing produced.
Discuss and resolve any issues with authors and managers.
Identify opportunities for writing and process improvements.
Participate in team meetings to contribute to shared content goals and strategy.
Prepare, research, and write marketing deliverables when assigned.
Lead and/or contribute to strategic projects to advance the goals of the content marketing team and the company more broadly.
Requirements
BA/BS degree in English, marketing, PR or related fields.
3+ years as a professional SEO writer/editor, preferably in a B2B environment.
Native English speaker and writer.
Excellent editorial judgment informed by mastery of content strategy and brand.
Exceptional and demonstrable editing and writing skills.
Outstanding attention to detail and skilled at recognizing and troubleshooting errors.
Experience offering writing feedback that is both direct and constructive.
Collaborative in nature; able to work efficiently with colleagues on a global, distributed team.
Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure with competing deadlines.
Willingness to take initiative to resolve issues and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Possession of an entrepreneurial mindset, eager to take on new challenges, identify improvement opportunities in existing processes, and expand existing skill sets
Preferred (but not necessary)
Experience working with and editing the work of non-native English writers.
Experience working for a SaaS company.
