“FUTURE OF ENERGY” REPORTER #DREAMJOBALERT #TRAVELLING

What you will do

Is making clean and sustainable energy accessible to all something you deeply care about?
Do you dream of any citizen being able to learn more about this issue and then take action, with the support of the MakeSense community?

Do you dream of travelling around the world (6 countries - possibilities include France, UK, Denmark, Morocco, Senegal, Lebanon, India, Tanzania, Mexico, the Philippines) during 3 months in order to meet entrepreneurs who are working on the future of energy to share their stories?

Then … jump in!

Our ambition is to engage citizens thanks to inspiring content showcasing innovative solutions, supported by citizen engagement processes that can apply to anyone. No matter their level of knowledge regarding the issue of the energy transition, any citizen will be able to take action and mobilize people. As the Energy Transition Backpack Filmmaker, your role will be to be on the field to catch, record and share the best stories you will find about social entrepreneurs developing solutions to tackle this issue. In addition to sharing your trip daily on social media, you will have to record and produce 6 short films about the 6 projects and entrepreneurs you will meet in the selected countries!

After a one-month training and preparation at the MakeSense Paris office, you will be in charge of :

Getting ready for the roadshow (20%)
Hand-in-hand and with the support of the media content team and the community developers team, you'll work on the pre-production of your roadshow for a month. This will include:

  • Content design: working on the video format and content of the 6 capsules with our Editor in Chief (tone, length, messages, call-to-actions, graphic design, …)
  • Social media: defining the social media content strategy to enable anyone to experience the creation of this webdoc (the 6 shorts) live from the inside
  • Community links: fine-tuning the collaboration processes between you, the world-wide MakeSense community and the engagement team to make your journey smooth
  • Logistics: finalizing the organization of your journey (flights, accommodations, VISA, …)

Content production (50%)
In order to engage the maximum number of people on global issues all around the world, MakeSense creates and shares inspiring content. Stories of people and projects are spotted by the engagement and content teams to be highlighted through different formats: video, text, image, podcast, etc. After the first MakeSense documentary series, Waynak, which has been screened in 20+ countries (and has been screened at Festival de Cannes!), we are looking to create the next version in a guerilla way. To make this happen, you have to master :

  • Storytelling & editorial: sharing stories with a casual, accurate and dynamic style
  • Interview leading and recording (at the same time): audio and video
  • Photography: illustrating your journey and share the behind-the-scenes adventure
  • Video, photo, audio editing: making the most of the content recorded to make it fit with the editorial angle defined previously
  • Layout design: creating a simple but efficient layout design to enhance images

Content diffusion (30%)
You will use social media as your favorite logbook during your three-month trip! You will share the encounters, adventures and anecdotes along your journey on Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook live and Twitter with 55k followers on Facebook, 18K on Twitter and a growing community on the others. You will address this growing audience to make them travel from their couch and give them the will to click, get up and get involved!

  • Editorial calendar: defining the frequency and time of your posts
  • Behind-the-scenes content: being spontaneous and able to share the highlights of your days
  • Video, photo, audio editing: making the most of the content recorded to make it fit with the editorial angle defined previously
  • Platforming : You will know how to best leverage each platform to post the appropriate content. Your drone shots on Instagram, the behind-the-scenes on the Insta Story, etc.
