We are recruiting to join our finance team to support the growth of our green electricity business. You will provide information on actual and expected performance, support the control and budgeting processes and participate in the development of new business areas. You conduct analyses that are essential for the financial result and shape the decision-making processes at management level.

As an FP&A Analyst, you will help us to really heat up the big utilities and leave a big green footprint - or rather: a tentacle footprint - behind them.

What you’ll do

  • You will work closely with our sales, energy sourcing, operations and technology teams to improve our forecasting and analysis.
  • You will compare planned and actual performance, present KPIs in monthly key figures and prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • You create and refine our real-time performance forecasts, taking into account areas such as wholesale prices, acquisition strategies and extreme weather scenarios
  • You will work alongside the finance team in France (mainly) with support of the group Strategic Finance team (based in London)

What you’ll need

  • You are excited to work in a fast growing company driving the energy transition
  • You either already have experience in the energy market or you are highly motivated to discover the sector in its current and future development
  • You have an analytical mind and are used to dealing with stakeholders across the business to understand and interpret the concrete connections behind the numbers
  • The energy market is complex and so are our models. You are motivated to become familiar with these models and keep an eye on the ‘big picture’ when dealing with senior management and partners
  • You are quick to tackle new topics, but at the same time understand that change in organisations requires involving people in different ways
  • You can present complex relationships simply
  • Ideally, you already have several years of experience in financial modelling or programming skills in SQL or Python
  • You are fluent in English and French
  • You are curious and open-minded

Why else you’ll love it here

  • Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it’s something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don’t advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn’t apply to Octopus - what’s more important to us is finding the right octofit!
  • Octopus Energy is a unique culture we won best company to work for in 2022, on Glassdoor we we’re voted 50 best places to work in 2022 and our Group CEO, Greg has recorded a podcast about our culture and how we empower our people - this is the same here in France
  • We are an organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co-owners, on projects that break new ground. Equity option scheme, flexible working, excellent health insurance, soft mobility pack… we want your hard work to be rewarded with perks you actually care about!

We’re looking for someone who thrives on solving tough problems. Someone who can challenge those around them, and be challenged, while delivering delightful experiences for our internal and external customers. If this is all exciting to you, apply now.
