Positive Planet International in Southern and East Africa (PPSA)
PPI’s Southern and East Africa regional office is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and manages our portfolio of projects in the region. PPI started South African operations in 2008 and throughout the past decade has worked on a range of projects, primarily with a focus on development finance, in countries including South Africa, Zambia, Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania and Lesotho.
PPI is seeking a Senior Consultant in Financial Inclusion and Entrepreneurship to play a key role in supporting and growing the regional office.
Qualifications
§ At least an Honour’s or Master’s Degree in Economics/International Development or other related fields
§ At least eight years’ experience in consulting and project management in the financial inclusion and economic development context
Proven track record in implementing and managing projects focusing on:
§ Inclusive finance and MSME finance
§ Entrepreneurship development experience highly desired
§ Experience with international donors, including the EU, a plus
Working knowledge and exposure to the following is desirable:
§ Financial Inclusion – Financial capability/ Financial education
§ Financial Inclusion – Digital financial services
§ EERE
Other attributes:
§ Networks in the South African public and corporate sectors
§ Successful track record writing proposals and concept notes
Conditions
> Location: Johannesburg, South Africa (based out of PPSA’s Hyde Park office)
> 30% travel: local and regional travel in support of projects
