Advans Ghana has been operating in Ghana since 2008, and has gained a strong position in urban areas. The MFI launched a few months ago its rural expansion strategy, which includes an agricultural finance program as well as alternative distribution channels (mobile agents, e-wallet interface, etc) to serve rural clients.

HORUS supports Advans Ghana in implementing its rural expansion strategy, and is therefore looking for a junior technical assistant for a 24 months assignment.

The expert will be based in Accra, with frequent missions in the regions, and work under the supervision of the support team in Paris.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The junior technical assistant will be in charge of developing innovative rural delivery channels to scale up Advans Ghana’s rural finance activities. This includes:

„ Evaluating services and delivery models piloted by Advans Ghana and identifying the most efficient ways to serve rural clients

„ Designing action plan for roll out

„ Negotiating with delivery channels partners and developing ADCs

„ Building capacities and training staff on rural services and delivery channels

„ Supervising the roll out and defining indicators for monitoring activities


„ Master’s degree in Finance, Management

„ At least 2 years of relevant professional experience,

„ Previous experience in the banking or microfinance sector

„ Previous work experience in Africa

„ Previous project management experience

„ Experience in training and coaching would be a plus

„ Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;

„ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);

The candidate must be eligible for a French « VIE » contract (French or European nationality, < 28 years old). Skills
