MakeSense allows anyone to have a positive impact as a community! We are a community of 3000 active volunteers in 100 cities around the world, who support social entrepreneurs. We do this online through different support and training programs, and offline through challenge-solving, project-emergence, and fun workshops and events! We pride ourselves most in the awesome connections you make at MakeSense, and the incredible exchange of talent and skills going on in the community. In the last 5 years, MakeSense mobilised over 25,000 citizens to help 1,500 social entrepreneurs, all over the globe!

MakeSense is an international team composed of 70+ people based in France, Mexico, Senegal, Lebanon and Philippines. We always experiment on new organizationational models that put autonomy, responsibility and kindheartedness at the heart of everything we do. Impact is as at the center of everything we do and we love to continuously learn and share ! As in our community, we turn everything challenge that we spot into collectively-built solutions !

Your role will be to design & implement community development strategies, mobilizations & partnerships in close relationship with the MakeSense community in Europe. You will work with Community Developers for West Africa, MENA, SE Asia, South America, online, to build the best tools so volunteers can support social project leaders.
We are looking for someone passionate about social innovation, who will enable community members to connect and get involved online & in real life.

After a proper training, you will be in charge of :

> Supporting the community 
Create and formalize methodologies to run efficient workshops and events
Source & frame challenges of social entrepreneurs, and direct them towards the right resources
Build strong relationships with local MakeSense Ambassadors (active volunteers) in Europe (mostly in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy)
Catch up on a regular basis with MakeSense Ambassadors, to support them in building mobilization in their cities (on topics such as food security, refugees, waste, energy …)
Reinforce connections between volunteers. MakeSense volunteers are full of resources; connecting allows peer-to-peer learning, creating different open-source methodologies, and mobilisations to go global
Help organize special events
Deliver trainings online and offline
Regularly travel to different european cities to meet with the community and work together

> Community Development Strategy 
Strengthening the volunteer journey with the Community Development team (making it as easy as possible to volunteer with MakeSense)
Understanding the level of maturity of each local community in Europe to share accurate tools and advice
Turning insights collected in the field into strategic recommendation in terms of engagement plan
Working hand in hand with the global Community Development team to co-design and build community tools

> Formalization 
Supporting the community in creating and formalizing methodologies to crack and solve all types of challenges (design thinking methodologies)
Building accurate tools that enable volunteer to engage citizens and support social innovations

You are convinced that citizen engagement can solve the most pressing social and environmental challenges of today
You like working with people online, online tools, and creating methodologies for workshops
You love people and enjoy working with volunteers and connecting people. You are a good listener
You are analytical and solution-focused
You are interested in community dynamics and want to learn more about them
You have successfully managed projects involving different kind of organizations : corporations, public institutions, student organizations.
You trained or helped other people to learn and acknowledge something
You are fluent in English & French (a significant part of the european community is based in France)
You value cultural diversity and being part of an international team
You are willing to co-build community tools with the Community Development team
You have one year of professional experience post diploma (internship included) : experience in innovation roles & understanding of design thinking highly appreciated
You are comfortable talking in front of large audiences
You're autonomous and can easily report and synchronize with others
You don’t mind working with flexible hours. Lots of events might happen in the evenings or weekends

Recruitment process

Starting date : available ASAP
Salary : depending on the level of experience. You will participate to all the Europe SenseCamp ( organized by the community and attend various trainings.
