About  Sparknews

Sparknews is a social startup that was created in 2012 by Ashoka Fellow Christian de Boisredon. Our mission is to amplify the impact of social and environmental innovations around the world, associating leading media outlets, social entrepreneurs and the corporate world. Here’s how we do it:

  • We source meaningful innovations that address social and/or environmental issues, anywhere in the world;

  • We share them widely through global media operations and events;

  • We connect social entrepreneurs with companies and experts of their sector through conferences, consultancy projects, seminars, and our amazing Positive Innovation Club.

Our biggest operations include:

  • Impact Journalism Day - 55+ leading media outlets from 50+ countries (Le Figaro, El Pais, Die Welt, Asahi Shimbun, The Straits Times, USA today, Al Hayat, Le Soir,...) publish on the same day a supplement featuring inspiring solutions, reaching over 120 million readers;

  • Solutions&Co - 20+ business newspapers (Les Echos, Handelsblatt, The Financial Times,...) publish on the same day a supplement featuring business solutions for climate.

Our content team is currently looking for an outstanding intern to help us deepen our knowledge of the latest trends in social innovation, strengthen our network of ambassadors and get the content materials ready for Impact Journalism Day 2017.

What you’ll do

  • Identifying innovative projects from around the world, interviewing the team and collecting information about them

  • Mapping key organizations in the social innovation scene in various geographical areas, turning them into active ambassadors of Sparknews

  • Managing reporting documents and databases to be used by our media partners for Impact Journalism Day

  • Translating communication material as needed

  • Assisting with other duties as assigned

Qualities and skills required

  • Passion for Sparknews’ topics: social entrepreneurship, journalism, innovation

  • Exceptional research skills in various languages, limitless curiosity

  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills

  • Fluency in French and English is a must, other languages are greatly appreciated

  • Experience in video making is a plus

  • Precision and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team, with good communications skills

  • Ability to do serious things without taking yourself too seriously


Background: Business, journalism, political science (“Convention de stage” is necessary)

Starting date: January 2016

Location: 37 rue Lafayette, Paris 9ème

Remuneration: € 554 per month + 50% of transportation expenses
