At MakeSense, we have been  building since 2011 a team of talented people who are passionate about social entrepreneurship and citizen engagement and wish to use their skills to solve the most pressing challenges of our society.  


MakeSense turns the talents, skills and connections of thousands of individuals around the world into unique superpowers to help Social Entrepreneurs. It works thanks to a community of 2,000 friends in 100 cities around the world spotting entrepreneurs and mobilizing on their challenges. : online through a website and offline through the organization of challenge-solving workshops called Hold-Ups. Within 5 years, MakeSense has mobilised more than 25,000 citizens to help 1,500 social entrepreneurs all over the globe !

To better support this community and develop MakeSense, we are looking for a creative and passionate individual to become our new community developer for Europe and will work hand in hand with the community developers of Asia (Rachel, based in Philippines), Latin America (Ana Laura, based in Mexico), Africa (Mamba, based in Senegal) and Middle East (Elsa, based in Lebanon) and also with Antoine, global community developer dedicated to the waste topic and Solène, coordinator of the team.

You role will be to design & implement community development strategies, campaigns & partnerships in close relationship with the MakeSense community in Europe. On top of any skills, we're most of all looking for an individual passionate about social entrepreneurship who will always make it easier for community members to connect and get involved online & in real life.

After a proper training you will be in charge of :

> Supporting the community in creating and formalizing methodologies to crack and solve all types of challenges

> Sourcing & framing challenges of social entrepreneurs

> Helping the most active membersmobilize citizens on different causes (food security, refugees, …)

> Supporting mobilizations campaigns across the community

> Strengthening the volunteer journey with the Community Development team

> Reinforcing connections between volunteers in order to enhance innovation from the community

> Building accurate tools based on the current and future needs of the community

> Helping organize special events and deliver training programmes 

> Regularly traveling to different european hotspots to meet with the community and work together


> You value cultural diversity and to be part of a distributed team

> You are convinced that citizen engagement is a way to leverage social impact to solve the most pressing social and environmental challenges that we face  

> You are a people lover and enjoy working with volunteers and connect people. You are a good listener. 

> You are familiar with online tools, and do not mind working online

> You are willing to co-build  community tools with the Community Development team

> You have a solution-focus thinking

> You are interested in community dynamics and want to learn more about it

> You have successfully managed projects involving different kind of organizations : corporates, public institutions, student associations.

> You have one year of professional experience post diploma (internship included) : experience in Innovation positions & understanding of design thinking highly appreciate

> You have already made presentations and talks in front of important audiences

> You're autonomous and can easily report and synchronize with others

> You don’t mind working with flexible hours. Lots of events might happen in the evenings or weekends


> Starting date : available ASAP

> CDD (fixed term contract) 6 months - renewable

> Salary : 1500 to 2000 euros gross salary per month (depending on the level of experience). You’ll be able to participate to all the Europe SenseCamp ( organized by the community and attend various trainings.

> MakeSense innovative and impacting actions and methodologies have been awarded by governments, companies and university which will bring credits to your future career
