Soksabike is an award winning social enterprise and bicycle tour operator in Battambang, Cambodia. Through our tours, we offer people all around the world an insight into the traditional livelihoods of the Cambodian countryside. We are passionate about responsible tourism and focus on educating guests in the realities of life in rural Cambodia and ensuring that visitors have a positive impact on the local communities – economically, socially and environmentally.


Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Communications (50%)
• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate a communications and marketing strategy
          o Using social media analytics report, create new comms and marketing targets

• Manage the company’s digital presence from design to implementation, including:
          o Re-design and update website including SEO
          o Manage social media channels
          o Manage and add listings of tours on online tour search websites (I Like Local, Viator, etc)
          o Manage digital marketing (Google Adwords, Facebook ads, etc)
          o Pitch stories for regional, national, and international media coverage
                   Maintain and develop strong sustainable tourism/media outlet networks locally and regionally.

•Enhance Soksabike’s brand as a responsible tourism operator/social business by engaging relevant communities (by publishing articles, giving talks, organizing and participating in events, etc)

• Manage communications material for tours from design to distribution (posters, brochures, videos, etc)

• Increase awareness of Soksabike and Battambang in domestic and international tourism markets.

• Train local staff on any of the above as appropriate


2. Business Management and Development (30%)
• Oversee daily operations and finances

• Build and maintain relationships with tourism businesses and social business community

• Develop new products as needed (tours, bespoke trips, etc)

• Manage a small team, and oversee staff training in responsible tourism concepts, and general tour guiding

• Support a Cambodian Operations Manager as needed

• Oversee the maintenance of bike fleet

• Train local staff on any of the above as appropriate


3. Community Project Management (20%)
• Manage activities for local communities (such as workshops and events related to environmental protection, responsible tourism, cycling, etc)

• Collaborate with local communities (businesses, schools, universities, villages, foreign and local residents, etc) in organizing and managing activities

• Seek additional funding and opportunities to support and expand these activities

• Support the local staff to plan and execute activities

• Train local staff on any of the above as appropriate



Skills and Qualities:
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• High level of skills in the production of information and communications material
• Proficiency in digital communications, SEO and social media
• Ability to liaise with community groups, stakeholders, and the tourism industry
• Excellent customer service skills and an understanding of visitor needs and of the tourism industry
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
• Strong management, administrative, organizational and project management ability
• Creativity and innovative strategic thinking along with good PR and marketing skills
• Knowledge/interests in at least two of the following: cycling, tourism, responsible tourism, community development, outdoor activities, Cambodian culture, and social enterprises
• Can work 40 hours per week, between 6:00 am – 6:00 pm as needed
• Can relocate to Battambang, Cambodia, for 12 months, starting in Jan/Feb 2016,
with the possibility of extending the contract for another year


Salary: around 400$/month - (Cost of living very low- (housing: 80$-120$/month - meal: 1$)
